This ritual incorporates specialized massage techniques and binding methods designed to support pelvic realignment, promote healing, and facilitate a sense of emotional closure.
The benefits of belly binding may include relief from postpartum discomfort, structural support for the pelvis, and a symbolic transition into motherhood. This ceremony is typically performed around 4–6 weeks postpartum following a vaginal birth or 8–10 weeks after a cesarean section and is completed within approximately two hours.
